Miriam Louise Larson, 96, passed peacefully on July 25, 2025. She was born in Reading, PA on November 14, 1928, to John Hudson and Jessie Stoddard Hudson. The daughter of a Salvation Army minister, Miriam lived in multiple cities throughout Pennsylvania and New York, crossing paths with Meadville during her time with the Salvation Army as a Kettle Ringer. Miriam met her future husband, Charles Larson, Sr. at the fish counter at A&P in Braddock, PA. They married soon after, and began to build a life in North Braddock. She was the loving mother and homemaker of five children, to whom she committed her life to. She was the president of the Shady Park PTA, and ran as a committeewoman for North Braddock. She was a dedicated catholic, and was involved in Christian Mothers at Saint Joseph’s in Braddock, PA. Miriam and Charles purchased a family summer cottage in Edinboro, where Miriam also spent time as a child. Miriam and Charles retired to Meadville in 1996, where they found fellowship in the local church community. Miriam was an animal lover, who found companionship in animals who crossed her path. She was full of stories and could start a conversation with anyone. She touched a lot of lives and valued everyone who was a part of her life.
Miriam is survived by her five children, Theresa Ruggeri (late Tom Matty), Charles Larson, Jr. (Sue Larson), Valerie Myers, Gerald Larson (late Elizabeth Larson) and Deborah Skelton. Her grandchildren, Tricia Ruggeri (Olivia Ruth), Erica Sobien, Eric Larson (Dana Larson), Liam Coppola and Emmi Larson. Her brothers, John Hudson, Jr. and Richard Hudson. Extended family Nancy and Susan Marshall. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Larson, Sr., and sister Mildred Magyar (late John Magyar). A special thank you to Sylvia Hostetler (aka Sophie), Miriam’s loved caretaker.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Tuesday, July 29th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th at 11:00am.
Miriam will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville.

At a time like this, words always fail. However, I am compelled to say that after reading her beautiful obituary, I can truthfully way that I am so touched. One thought keeps rolling through my mind, I wish I had been blessed to know her. I offer my sincere condolences to each and every member of her family.
