Michael John Pyle, 71, of Franklin passed away on August 18, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Born on September 19, 1953 in North Tonawanda, NY, he was the son of the late Donald “Duck” and Ruth (Patterson) Martin.

Mike worked for many years at Polk Center and enjoyed caring for the residents there.

He attended Franklin Wesleyan Methodist Church when he was able.

Mike enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping, especially if it was with family. He also liked to work on old cars and watched old westerns like “GunSmoke”. Most of all, his family was his world and he loved every moment he got to spend with them.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Ginger Sanford and her husband, Wes, of Kennerdell, Michael Pyle of Franklin, and Donald Pyle and his wife, Heidi, of Franklin; his grandchildren Michael Pyle, of Franklin, Britney Hornstrom and her husband, Brent, of Rocky Grove, Brandon Laing, Justice Oakes, Bryce Pyle, Breanna Pyle, Bethanee Pyle, Braden Pyle, Benjamin Pyle and Brantley Pyle, all of Franklin; and his great grandchildren Layla, Daxton, and Daelin all of Franklin; his sister Grace McQueen and her husband, Dale, of Butler; and his special niece, Ruth Ann Keri of Ohio. He is further survived by his companion, Sue Semrau of Franklin; his step children Bobby Latchaw and Travis Semrau of Franklin; and his step grandchildren Tyana and Devon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Judy Umstead, Linda Haun, Jim Pyle, Randy Pyle, and an infant brother.

Guests are invited to the Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315

Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 4 pm to 6 pm with funeral services to follow at the funeral home at 6 pm with Pastor Jonathan Bell, pastor of Franklin Wesleyan Methodist Church, officiating.
Mike will be laid to rest with his family in Franklin Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made in Mike’s memory to the Family House, 5308 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224.
