Matthew J. Kerr, 31, of Erie and formerly of Union City, passed away, on Monday, September 9, 2019. He was born on February 25, 1988 in Union City a son of George D. Kerr and Marsha J. Long Kerr.
He was a 2007 graduate of Union City High School and was a member of Union City Presbyterian Church.
Matthew proudly served his country with the US Air Force. He was a Security Forces Specialist assigned to the 8th Fighter Wing, a F-16 unit responsible for protecting the sky against a potential enemy around Kunsan Air Base, South Korea.
In his free time, Matthew enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking, and when he was younger he really enjoyed archery.
Matthew is survived by his parents, George D. and Masha J. Kerr of Union City; his companion and son; a daughter, Isla Monet Kerr; a sister, Kristie J. Luden and her husband Chris of Sherman, New York; a brother, Jamie A. Kerr and his wife Christina of Greenfield, Indiana; his paternal grandmother, Jeanne Shell of Union City; and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Harry Kerr; and his maternal grandparents, Otho and Betty Long.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Thursday, September 12th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 62 S. Main Street, Union City with a memorial service to follow at 4:00pm with Pastor Rob Willert, officiating.
Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Union City.
