Mary Lois Obringer, aged 41, of Union City, PA, sadly left us on April 20, 2025, at Saint Vincent Hospital in Erie. Born on August 8, 1983, she was the beloved daughter of Glen M. Obringer and the late Marjorie L. Chelton.
Mary was a 2001 graduate of Union City High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, with minors in Sociology and Psychology from Penn State Main. She dedicated her career to nurturing young minds as a Teacher’s Assistant at Early Connections Child Care, both in Union City and Erie.
She attended Valley View Mennonite Church, Mary enjoyed cozying up with a good book and was a devoted fan of Jeopardy! She loved being a big sister and found immense joy as an aunt to her numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary is survived by her father Glen Obringer, her sister Jenny (Jamie) Conant of Corry, and her brothers David Ray of Girard, Michael (Dawn) Obringer of Waterford, and Andrew (Shannon) Obringer of Berea, Kentucky. She will also be remembered fondly by her nieces and nephews: Jay (Paige) Conant, Mikayla Conant, Dawn (Jamez) Booker, Bryce Obringer, and Christian Obringer, along with her great niece and nephew, Wrenlee and Walker Conant, and a special niece-to-be, Maeve Booker. Her best friend Nikki will also miss her dearly.
Friends and family can pay their respects during calling hours on Thursday, April 24th, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Valley View Mennonite Church, located at 24313 PA-89 & PA-77 in Spartansburg. An additional calling hour will be held on Friday, April 25th, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same church, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM, led by Pastor Luke Johnson.
Mary will be remembered for her kindness, her love for family, and her bright spirit that touched so many lives. We invite everyone who knew and loved her to join us in celebrating her life.
