Mark K. Thompson

Mark K. Thompson, 67, of Meadville, passed away, Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Meadville Medical Center, from post surgical complications. He was born on April 1, 1954 in Meadville, a son of Forrest "Dale" Thompson and Mary Bishoff Thompson. He attended Linesville Schools and was employed with Trinity in Greenville and later he owned and operated Mark's Autobody Shop. Mark was raised in the Baptist faith. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, working on his '53 Dodge truck, and tinkering in the garage alongside his son. Mark was a free spirit, whose sense of adventure led him to explore the open road and travel the countryside. His ability to talk to anyone enabled him to make friends any place he landed. He had a big heart and was always one to lend a helping hand to those in need. In between periods of happiness, Mark struggled with addiction and depression. Even with his failing health, Mark could argue with you until he had the final word. He loved his children with all his heart and he will be dearly missed by family, friends and those whose life he affected. By the Grace of God, we hope his heart, mind and soul are finally at peace. Mark is survived by his mother, Mary Thompson of Fredonia, New York; two daughters, Kerri Boozer and her husband Carter of Cochranton and Jodi Batsch and her husband Shawn of Lakewood Ranch, Florida; a son, Jerami Thompson and his wife Alecia of Conneaut Lake; grandchildren, Alexandria Thayer, Cameron and Collin Boozer, A.J. and Eason Batsch, and Mason Thompson; a sister, Patricia Brown of Fredonia, New York; and a brother, Dennis Thompson and his wife Marilyn of Sheakleyville. He was preceded in death by his father. A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mark's memory to Active Aging, 1034 Park Avenue, Meadville. 1. Although he was my cousin I viewed Mark as more of an uncle. He always made me laugh and taught me that sometimes standing alone doesnot mean you are wrong sometimes in life standing alone for what you believe makes you the better person and builds ones character. I took that lesson to heart and still do till this day. I will take comfort in knowing Mark is up in heaven. My heart is heavy for one of my favorite cousins. Marks handsome son. I love you Mark until we meet agian. Give my Papa Clay hugs and kisses for me. Watch over all of us. Prayers for the family in their difficult time. Mark will truly be missed.

  2. Aunt Mary, Patty, Dennis and family, I’m so sorry for your loss. I always remember Mark with a smile. Gov bless you. Any Ellis Barber
