Marie M. Hiles, 79, of Franklin, passed away on Monday, December 7th at 4:10 a.m. at Oakwood Heights Community in Oil City. Born November 7th, 1936 in Spangler, Marie was the daughter of the late Clark Dennis and Iva O'Harrah Woodford. On November 26, 1955, Marie married John P. Hiles, Sr., who preceded her in death on September 2, 1996. Marie worked as a RSA at the Polk Center and retired in 1996, after 25 years of service. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, drawing, and painting. She was a great animal lover and an avid Steelers fan. She also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the President Chapel Church.Marie is survived by her four children, all of Franklin: Dennis G. Hiles, and his wife, Winifred; John P. Hiles, Jr., and his wife, Megan; Robin Fox, and her husband, Harry Fox, Sr.; and Annette Hart, and her husband, Randy. She is also survived by her sister, Betty McDonald, and her husband, Edward, of Polk, and her beloved grand-dog, Patches.Marie is further survived by her nine grandchildren: Harry Fox, Jr., and his girlfriend, of Lenoir, TN; Jason Hiles of TX; Jeremy Hiles, and his wife, Pam, of NC; Johnathan Reisinger, and his wife, Amanda of Franklin; Brandon Reisinger of Franklin; Rachael Hart of Franklin; Jacob Hart of Franklin; Morgan Hiles of Franklin; and Mya Hiles of Franklin. She is also survived by her six great-grandchildren: Dakota Fox of Cranberry; Denise, Elizabeth, & Alexander Hiles of TX; and Cody & Calvin Hiles of NC.Marie was only preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street in Franklin, on Tuesday, December 8th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 9th at 1:00 p.m. at the Oakland United Methodist Church, 1431 PA 428 in Oil City , with Rev. Ed Saxman, pastor of the Oakland United Methodist Church, officiating.
