Marguerite M. Shaw Marguerite M. Shaw, 94, formerly of 620 12th Street, Franklin, died July 9, 2010 at The Caring Place in Franklin. Born March 5, 1916, in Pleasantville, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Welthea Billig Holtz. She grew up and attended schools in Pleasantville, graduating from Pleasantville High School in 1933. Mrs. Shaw attended Edinboro University for two years, and then worked as a teacher while completing her degree. Her teaching career spanned 25 years, 20 of those years in the Franklin Area Schools. She retired in December 1977. She was married to Walter Shaw on June 15, 1939. Four children were born to them, three daughters and one son. She is survived by her three children; Nancy Edwards and her husband, Bud, of Punta Gorda, Florida and Franklin, Charles Walter Shaw Jr., and his wife, Vicki, of Crested Butte, Colorado, and Laurie Shouey and her husband, Ray, of Franklin. Additionally, she is survived by her thirteen grandchildren; Stephanie Edwards Kunau, McKinley Carl Edwards, III, Wendy Elizabeth Edwards, Jacob Shaw, Katie Shaw O'Brien, Nathan Shaw, Luke Shaw, Betsey Shouey Foy, Rachael Shouey van der Westhuizen, Jered Shouey, Jordan Shouey, Javan Shouey, and Ava Shouey; and twenty-two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Evelyn Kingsley of Franklin and Jean Beason and her husband, Tom, of Titusville. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shaw was preceded in death by her husband; her infant daughter, Barbara Joan Shaw; and her sister, Esther Holtz. Friends may call at the Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Friday, July 16, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 17, at Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin, with the Rev. David Janz, presiding. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pleasantville, The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Christian Loving Fund, c/o 103 North 13th Street, Franklin, PA 16323.
