Margaret "Peggy" J. McClelland, 89, of Sugarcreek Borough passed away on November 14, 2019 at The Caring Place.Born June 22, 1930 in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Katherine (Burchfield) Cheers.On August 2, 1948, she married the love of her life, Wayne E. McClelland; he precedes her in death.Peggy held a variety of jobs throughout her life, such as positions at Top Value Stamp Store and The Bon-Ton, and as a Clerk at the Central Tax Bureau.In her spare time, Peggy lived her life to the fullest. She was cherished her lifelong friendships with her card club ladies and was an avid gardener, often taking the time to enjoy her hillside daffodils. She was also of the Methodist faith and attended Grace United Methodist Church. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Ralph McClelland and his wife, Michelle, of Noblesville, IN; her three daughters, Caroline "Kay" Blyler and her husband, Allen, Donna Reina and her husband, Thomas, and Linda Doutt and her husband, Randy, all of Franklin; her seven grandchildren, Fred Blyler, Shelly Keener, Julia Kapp, Mandy Reina, Katie Laird, Ryan McClelland, and Parker McClelland; her six great-grandchildren, Devin Valdesalice, Henry Gent, Elizabeth Gent, Zeara Reina, Alexis Smith, Jaden Kapp; her great-great-granddaughter, Meilani Snow; and her two brothers, Raymond Cheers of Mentor, OH, and Ronald Cheers and his wife, Opal, of Austin, TX. In addition to her parents and husband, Peggy was preceded in death by her grandson, Nicholas McClelland; and by her sister-in-law, Nancy Cheers.Family and friends will be received on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA 16323, from 2 pm to 6 pm.Funeral services for Peggy will be held on Monday, November 18, 2019 starting at 11 am at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc. with Revered Gary Atkinson, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.Peggy will be laid to rest in the Center Cemetery.Memorial contributions can be made in Peggy’s honor to the American Heart Association, 444 Liberty Avenue, Suite 300, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.To send flowers, cards, online condolences, or for further information, family and friends are invited to visit www.gardinierfuneralhome.com.
