Mabel Lorraine Mook, 90, of Franklin, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Sugarcreek Station in Franklin.Mrs. Mook was born on September 25, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Chester and Jenny Beers Crisman. She was a graduate of Franklin High School. On October 09, 1947 she married Francis Mook. He preceded her in death after 61 years of marriage. She worked as a residential aide at Polk Center. She retired in 1988 following 25 years of service. Mabel attended the Atlantic Avenue United Brethren in Christ Church where she was active in the Women's Missionary Society. She loved to travel, crochet, latchbook, listen to barbershop music that her husband sang, and read. She most especially loved to spend time with her family.Mrs. Mook is survived by her daughter, Judy Miller and her husband, Robert, of Meadville, her nephews, Dale Crisman and his wife, Bev, of Kentucky, Roy Snyder and his wife Pam, of Largo, FL, Robert Mook Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Polk, and William Mook, of Grove City, her nieces, Susan Crisman, of Franklin, Sharon Bennett and her husband, David, of Franklin, Marilyn Ham, of Franklin, and Patty Baker and her husband Merle, of Franklin. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Mook, her stepmother, Dorothy Crisman, her brothers Herbert Crisman, and Forest "Poke" and his wife Mary Crisman, her sisters - in - law Ruth Snyder and her husband George, and Dorothy Wheeler, and her husband, Clyde, a brother - in - law, Robert Mook and his wife Nancy, her niece, Cheryl Rowland, and her nephew, Don Snyder. Visitation will be held at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc. 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin, on Wednesday January 3, 2017 from 11am -1pm. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home at 1pm with the Rev. Gary Small, retired pastor of the Atlantic Avenue United Brethren in Christ Church, officiating. I am very grateful for having the privilege of taking care of Mabel while she was at Sugar Creek Station. Such a lovely lady. She will be missed.
