Louise A. Borkovec, 88, of 1120 Market St., Meadville, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.
Born in Oil City on Sept. 23, 1922, she was a daughter of Carl Choffel and Nellie Hough Choffel. She married Harry J. Borkovec; he passed away March 12, 1984.
She was a homemaker.
She enjoyed playing bingo, working crossword puzzles and find-the-word puzzles, and playing board games with her children and grandchildren. She loved visiting and being visited by her friends and family.
She was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, John C. Borkovec of Meadville; two daughters, Christine Pelc and her husband, Paul, of Meadville, and Karen Boor and her husband, Gary, of Blooming Valley; a sister, Catherine Woods of Ashtabula, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Carlos Jimenez and his wife, Nicole, Elisa Beuchet and her husband, Ed, Elana Taylor and her husband, Dan, Paul Pelc Jr. and his wife, Rachel, Andy Boor, Jason Boor and his wife, Beth, Joshua Boor and Matthew Boor; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Stinette.
Calling hours are today from 1 to 2:30 and 5 to 7 p.m. at Roofner-Collins Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral and committal services are today at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with Father Raymond Gramata of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville.

I met Louise when I was assigned as her home health aide in 2007. I remained with her for several months. I always enjoyed being around her, she was a delight and a pleasure to care for, she will be missed. My condolences to the family, and my thoughts and prayers.
