Lisa Diann Heffern, 58, of Polk passed away on June 12, 2025 at her residence with her family at her side.
Born on February 1, 1967 in Oil City, she was the daughter of the late Roger and Beverly (Burkhardt) McCarty. After graduating high school, she received her Bachelor’s in Science Education degree from Slippery Rock University. She loved teaching for the Child Development Center. On October 12, 1991, she married the love of her life, Scott D. Heffern and he survives. She was a member of the Polk Presbyterian Church and faithfully attended Christian bible study groups at various area churches with her friends. Lisa was also a member of the Pennsylvania Order of the Eastern Star, Morris Chapter, Oil City and enjoyed traveling, crafting, and quilting. Left to cherish her memories along with her husband Scott of Polk is her daughter Amelia N. Heffern of Swissvale, PA; her siblings Brian McCarty of Polk and Daniel McCarty and his wife, Christy, of Franklin; her nieces and nephews, Jewel Regan McCarty, Chad Clark, Madison and Mark Heffern, and Sarah, Samantha, and Sidney Kochis. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 9, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Polk Presbyterian Church, 729 Main Street, Polk, PA with Pastor Larry Myers officiating. Lisa will be laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery, Sandy Lake. Memorial contributions can be made in Lisa’s memory to the Polk Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 329, Polk, PA 16342. Arrangements are under the care of the Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA.
