GUYS MILLS - Linda Ellen (Hannon) Silvis, 68, of Guys Mills, Pa., passed away, Sunday, August 14, 2016 at home. She was born on 10 February 1948, in Providence, R.I. to William and Barbara Hannon. She graduated from George Washington High School on Agana, Guam in May of 1966. She was on Guam because of her Dad’s employment with the Federal Civil Service. She returned Stateside to marry her first husband and lived in Lemoore, Ca. where upon her divorce from her first husband she met and married her current husband, Robert Silvis and settled in Hanford, Ca.. Her husband, Robert, was in the U. S. Navy and retired from the service in 1981. Upon his retirement Linda, Bob and their son Scott returned to Bob’s home state of Pennsylvania where they settled in 1984 in Guys Mills. While in California she was employed as a typesetter for Moore Business Forms and upon coming to Pennsylvania was employed at Morco, Inc. of Cochranton, Pa. for over twenty years and her final employment was as Dr. Donald Rezek’s receptionist. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Barbara Hannon, her grandparents and several aunts and uncles. Surviving her are her husband, Robert Silvis of Guys Mills, Pa., her son, Scott Silvis and his girlfriend Nora Custead of Cochranton, Pa., sisters, Nancy Hannon of Wakefield, R.I., Susan Carlson of Wakefield, R.I., Laura and David Wilson of Hawaii, Jane Roby of Warwick, R.I. and Wendy Slywinski of Warwick, R.I. and stepdaughter, Kimberly Ferguson of Jasper, In. Friends and Family are invited to call at the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335, on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service at 3:00 P.M. Pastor David Brumagin will be officiating the service. Memorials may be made the the Randolph Volunteer Fire Department, in care of Robert Silvis, 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335. So very sorry for your lost, we lived next to Linda and her family when we young in Warwick Rhode Island many many years ago before the Family moved to Guam.Linda came to our home in Coventry 6 years ago.We had such a great visit with her and her sister Nancy and other old friends that lived in the same neighborhood.Linda was so good with my little grandson Charlie holding him and entertaining him,it was such a special occasion having her there.Our sincerest condolences.
