Leona M. Greggs, 96, of Franklin, passed away on Wednesday, April 6th at 12:23 p.m. at the Caring Place in Franklin.Born March 27, 1920 in Hendersonville, Leona was the daughter of the late Ruffus Budman and Alma Cutchall Gadsby. On March 27, 1938, Leona married Billie B. Greggs, who preceded her in death on November 25, 1991. She was a member of the Franklin Alliance Church and enjoyed fishing and reading in her spare time. She loved spending time with her family and always looked forward to her daily phone call from her grandson, Scott. She was the last of her family.Leona is survived by her daughters: Madalyn Gregory, and husband, Richard, of Mercer; Sherlyn Hughes of Franklin; and Roxelyn Say, and husband, Larry, of Cranberry. She is additionally survived by eight grandchildren: Scott Gregory, and wife, Susan, of Salem, OH; Christian Gregory of Mercer; Steven Hughes, and wife, Rose, of Franklin; Darin Hughes of Franklin; Kelly Wilson, and husband, Steven, of Oil City; Karen Hughes of Franklin; Thaddeus Say, and wife, Jennifer, of Sparks, MD; and Teah Williams, and husband, Jerry, of Cranberry. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.Leona was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billie; sister, Pearl Firster; and two brothers, Wallace and Tracy Gadsby.The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street in Franklin, on Monday, April 11th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 12th at 1:00 p.m., with the Rev. Scott Woodlee, pastor of the Franklin Alliance Church, officiating.
