Lawrence W. Grove, 85, of Guys Mills, passed away, Monday, April 29, 2013 at his residence. He was born July 14, 1927 in Hydetown, Pennsylvania a son of Orville Grove and Mary Kightlinger Grove. He married Mary Ellen McBride she preceded him in death on April 29, 2001.
He attended Townville Schools and was employed by the Erie Lackawanna-Conrail Railroad.
Lawrence was a US Army Veteran serving his country from 1950 - 1952 station at Fort Bliss, Texas.
He was a former member of the Vernon Volunteers, Crawford County REACT, and he enjoyed hobby farming.
Lawrence is survived by one daughter, Michele L. Erie and her fiance Theodore S. Charles of Guys Mills; and two grandchildren, Gabrielle Harkness and Nicholas Erie.
In addition to his wife, Mary Ellen Grove he was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Wednesday, May 1st from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral and committal service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 2nd at 11:00am with Reverend Joe Kaufer of Southern Care Hospice, officiating. Following the committal service full military honors will be performed by Huidekoper VFW Post 2006 Color Guard.
Burial will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Township.
