Karl D. Buttray, Jr., 67, passed away, Saturday, April 16, 2022 at home after a time of illness. He was born on March 31, 1955 in Meadville, a son of Karl D. Buttray, Sr. and the late Pauline D. Slayton. He married Laura L. Sullivan, she survives.
He enjoyed spending time with his dogs, charcoal drawing, and just being at home. When he was younger he was an avid hunter, fisher, and archer.
In addition to his loving wife, left to cherish his memory is his father, Karl, Sr., of Meadville; three daughters, Cristal M. Niwa and her husband, Anthony of Meadville, Samantha J. Button and her husband, Andrew of Virginia, and Breanne M. Buttray and her companion, Coley Brown of Meadville; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy Jo Mattocks of Meadville.
Karl was preceded in death by his mother; sister, Karla Buttray; brother, William Buttray; step-mother, Mary Etta Buttray; and son, Roman J. Buttray.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, with the funeral service to follow at 6:00 pm with Pastor Nate Alsdorf, officiating.

Having known Karl since high school, there was never a time I would see him on the streets of Meadville that he was not warm and friendly. To his wife and family, I’m so sorry for your loss. Karl was certainly a good man. My thoughts and prayers are for your peace throughout this time of loss and sorrow.
