Joseph W. Trypus, 78, of Meadville, passed away, Sunday, September 14, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 6, 1936 in Meadville, a son of John Trzpis and Jane Jenkins Trzpis. He married Marianne Eicher on January 2, 1957. He was employed by Zelasko Motors and Meadville Malleable now known as Advanced Cast. Joseph was a member of Saint Brigid Roman Catholic Church. In his earlier years he enjoyed stock car racing with his brother Dick and working on cars. He attended and participated in all of his grand-daughters sports where he was known as "Papa Joe." He also enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and his two Pomeranian's, Mia and Brittany. Joseph looked forward to his weekly breakfast outing with his buddies. In addition to his loving wife Marianne of 57 years; Joseph is survived by two daughters, Betty Frisina and her husband Frank of Meadville and Diane DeRemer and her fiance Kevin Proverb of Meadville and his children, Kevin, Nancy, Krystle, and Johnny; a son, Joseph J. Trypus and his wife Chari of Meadville; seven grandchildren, Cherie DeRemer, Jessica Miller and her husband John, Meghan DeRemer and her fiancee Kevin, Catherine Frisina, Jackie DeRemer and her significant other Travis, Tiffany Weigle and her husband Bill, and Ryan Trypus and his wife Shelly; seven great grandchildren, Braxton, Addison, Skylar, Sam, Shawn, Preston, and Keaira; two sisters, Helen Parker and her husband Bill of Colorado and Bettie Reichel and her husband Maurice of Washington; three brothers, Richard Trypus of Florida, Jack Trypus of Meadville, and Daniel Trypus and his wife Theresa of Linesville, a half-sister, Aggie Krawiec of Erie, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Martin Trypus; and two half brothers, Donald Trypus and Hank. Family and friends are welcome to call on Wednesday, September 17th from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will follow at 7:00pm at the funeral home with Pastor Marshall Lillie of Hospice of Crawford County, officiating.
