MEADVILLE - John William Campbell, 91, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Meadville on November 20, 1924, a son of Frank Benard and Genevieve Elizabeth Carl Campbell.
He serviced in the United States Army for two years starting on June 9, 1943 in the South Pacific.
John worked as a train conductor for Erie Lackawanna and Conrail Railroad from February 1943 until September 1985.
He resided at 737 Stewart Street, Meadville for 54 years until moving toVernon Township in 1979.
John married Wilma L. “Mert” Grinnell on September 18, 1945, she preceded him in death on March 10, 1979.
He is survived by a son, John Scott; a daughter, Lori Jean Banks; five grandchildren and Nieces and Nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two brothers, Lynn and Bruce.
Arrangements are in the care of Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, in John’s name, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road Meadville, PA 16335
