John Paul Shellito, age 59 of Union City, died Saturday, September 21, 2025 at UPMC Hamot as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident earlier that day.
A son of Charles and Julia Painter Shellito he was born November 14, 1965 in Union City.
Mr. Shellito was a graduate of Union City High School.
He enjoyed his job as a caretaker at Lakeshore Community Services.
On August 28, 1999 John married the former Jennifer Nulph who survives.
He was a veteran of the US Army and had served in Operation Desert Storm. He took pride in his country and was a very Patriotic man.
John was of the Christian faith and was known as a very kind-hearted person. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed the shooting range. Most of all, John enjoyed his family.
Surviving is his wife Jennifer; three daughters, Julie Shellito, Jillian Shellito and Jaclyn Shellito, all of Union City; and a brother, Robert Shellito and his wife Darlene of Union City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, David Shellito; and a sister, Linda Shellito.
Private services will he held at a later date. The Warren-Glenn Funeral Home, 62 South Main Street, Union City has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.

  1. When I first moved up here I used to play with my cousin DeLaynne at her house. John was her friend and neighbor. The three of us would hang out all day in the summertime. We used to ride bikes up to the dam, play freeze tag, hide and seek and climb trees. He was a lot of fun to be around and was a gentle, kind boy.
    My deepest condolences to his wife and daughters! May God pull you through your pain, grief and trauma.
