John Nelson Harvey

MEADVILLE - John "Jack" Harvey, 66, of Meadville, passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 at Meadville Medical Center. He was born on May 9, 1948 in Meadville. Son of the late Charles E. and Virginia Roche Harvey. Jack was the very first employee at Vallonia Industries in Meadville. He was beyond proud to work there and to work on the Channel Lock barcoad fliers. He was an active member at the ARC, Oasis, a member of the Special Olympics bowling team, avid Nascar fan, especially Jeff Gordon, loved local dirt track racing and was a huge Pittsburgh Steeler and Pittsburgh Pirates Fan. Jack is survived by his sister, Nancy Harvey Hunt and her husband Bud of Meadville; brother Bud Harvey and his wife Sandy of Meadville; sister-in-law, Jean Harvey of Meadville; brother-in-law Jerry Gill of GA; nephews, Thomas Gill, Stevie Greg, Paul, Ed and Donald Harvey, nieces, Alisa King, Connie Carmon, Linda Watt, Kelly Morris and numerous great and great great nieces and nephews, especially Hannah and Riley. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Rita Gill; brothers, Steve and Mike Harvey, nephew Gary Harvey and great great niece Samantha Swavey. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Second Chance Thrift Store, which benefits the Crawford County Humane Society, 904 Park Avenue, Meadville, PA 16335.
