MEADVILLE - John James Hurban, Sr., 91 of Meadville, passed away, Thursday, September 20, 2018 at home. He was born on January 11, 1927 in Erie, PA, son of the late Adam and Mary Jankovich Hurban. John proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. He married the love of his life, Patricia "Pat" McLain on October 8, 1949.
John enjoyed hunting, fishing, stocking trout and enjoying time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Patricia Hurban; three sons, John James Hurban. Jr. and his wife Sandra of Cochranton; Mark Daniel Hurban and his wife Sandra of Houston, TX; and David Matthew Hurban and his wife Carol of Lakeland, FL; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two nieces.
In addition to his parents; John was preceded in passing by his brother; and two sisters.
Per John's request services will be held privately.
Burial will take place at St. Agatha Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 W. 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.

Pat and family – my deepest condolences on the loss of John. You may not remember me, but my mom, LeVieve Stone, spoke fondly of you many times. May the Holy Spirit comfort you all as only He can.
So very sorry to learn of John’s passing..my thoughts and prayers are with you, his family.
I so fondly remember the jovial prankster who lived across the street on Jackson Park Drive..
