One of my earlies memories of Uncle Coog was at a family reunion. He always liked to compliment my red hair. He took off his hat, stroked his shiny bald head, and he told me that my red hair was just like his. I don’t remember what I said back, but it was something like, “Boy, I sure hope not.” I don’t think he was very offended. So whenever I think of him, I will always remember that encounter. Rest in Peace, Uncle Coog! I will miss you! Love, your Niece, Amy Hilyer- Phillips.

Clara and family, sorry for your loss. May God grant you all strength and comfort. I always considered Red a good friend and was thankful to have known him. To this day, though, I still feel bad about his finger in the shop door handle! God Bless, Jack and Linda Coogan.
