John A. Winslow, 80, of Oil City, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca, following an extended illness. Born March 12, 1939 in Emlenton, he was the son of the late Elmer and Iva (Kriebel) Winslow. After graduating from Rocky Grove High School, John enlisted as a member of the United States Army Reserves. On October 15, 1965, he married the love of his life, the former Sandra Snell; she survives him. For most of his life, John was employed by the former Union #47 as a Plumber and Pipe Fitter. In his spare time, John enjoyed hunting, checking out great deals at yard sales, collecting baseball cards, and playing the lottery. Most of all, he adored his grandchildren and all the times he got to watch them play sports. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sandra Winslow of Oil City; his three sons, Gary Winslow of South Korea, Curt Winslow and his wife, Michaelene, of Stoneboro, and Troy Winslow and his wife, Melissa, of Franklin; his seven grandchildren, Alyssa Winslow and her fiancé, Justin Wolfgong, Sadie Winslow, Hannah Winslow, Jeremy Winslow, Koby Winslow, Kennedi Winslow, and Kye Winslow; his seven great-grandchildren, Mayken, Owen, Ashton, Talon, Bowen, Averi, and Emilee; and his two brothers, Donald E. Winslow and Stephen N. Winslow, both of Franklin. As per the family's request, no public visitation shall take place. A Memorial Service for John will be held on Monday, December 16, 2019 starting at 11 am at Fox Street Church of God, 229 Fox Street, Franklin with Reverend Chad Troup, pastor of the church, officiating. Sandy and Family, We were so sorry to hear of John’s passing. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. With our deepest sympathy, The Fisher Family
Jack was a honest man who I looked up to while becoming a man. Prayers for Gary’s trip home and for the family grieving. Jack was a great man.
My condolences go out to the entire Winslow family. Jack always exhibited the qualities and traits of what a family man is. Although he was a man of few words….one still had to be ready for his quick one liners!!! Whether it was spending time at a ball game with him, or sharing stories over a cold one on the Winslow front porch in “the Grove”, I will always have fond memories of “Arn”. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his family at this time. Dale “Quail” Klingensmith
Arnie was a good friend to our mutual friend of Jim Hovis! In the “Old Days,” if you saw one, you saw them both! What am I talking about? There’s another reunion in that great meeting room upstairs, rest easy my friends, all is well.
