Joann Gayetty, age 74, of Franklin, died Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.A daughter of Alfred and Francis Gibbons Culp, she was born August 21, 1941 in Seneca, PA.Joann was a 1959 graduate of Cranberry High School.On August 25, 1962 Joann married Joseph F. Gayetty. They have been married over 53 years.Mrs. Gayetty was an active member of Galloway United Methodist Church, teaching Children's Sunday School and heading the Prayer Chain. She loved God, her family and reading. Joann was known for her personal notes of encouragement to others and was a "real prayer with camel's knees". While living in North Carolina, she was the leader in Bible Study Fellowship for six years. She loved her closeness with the Lord and the time she would spend praying for others.She had worked for Dr. Goodwin in Oil City as a Medical Secretary and as a secretary at the Ford Garage in Harrisburg.God blessed Joann with a lung transplant in 1998 and healed her of cancer in 2004.Surviving is her husband Joseph F. Gayetty; a son, Joseph P. Gayetty and wife Barbara of Reno; a daughter, Kristina Campbell and husband Linn of Seneca; a brother, Richard Baker and wife Trish of Oil City; a sister, Diana Martz and husband Sam of Rockland; four grandchildren; Rachel Lamb and husband Kevin of Franklin, Rebekah Haney and husband Doug of Reno, Josiah Gayetty of Reno, Elijah Gayetty of Reno; four great grandchildren, Rosalie, Adelaide and Natalie Lamb all of Franklin, Willow Haney of Reno; a brother-in-law: Tom Anderson of Franklin; and her ex-daughter-in-law, Ruth Zinz of Reno.She was preceded in death by her parents mentioned above; stepfather, Claude "Tony" Baker; a brother, Ronald Culp; and a sister, Ginger Anderson.Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 Thursday at the Gardinier Funeral Home, 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin. Funeral Services will be held 11 am Friday at the Galloway United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roy Gearhart officiating. Anne (Ciko) Luce My sincere sympathies and prayers. I remember when I lived in Seneca and our brothers were friends. I was in awe of Joann; I admired her very much and in later years when I would see her she always remembered me . She had the most beautiful smile. I will never forget her.
