Joan M. Allen, 87, of Meadville, PA, passed away peacefully at her home on March 19, 2025, after a brief illness. Born on July 1, 1937, in Meadville, she was the beloved daughter of Victor Roha and Myrtle Roha.

Joan was a proud Randolph High School graduate and she shared her culinary skills as a cook at Meadville Area Senior High School. Following her time of employment at the school, she spent 30 years working as an inspector at Meadville Forge. Her faith played a vital role in her life as she was a devoted member of the Christian community.

Joan had a passion for cooking, planting, and gardening, and her home was always filled with the warmth of family gatherings. She was known to many as a second mother, offering love and support to those around her.

Joan leaves behind her long-time companion, Paul Tieche of Meadville, and her three sons: Paul Allen of Conneautville, Ronald Allen of Conneaut Lake, and Mark Allen and his wife Sheri of Wheeling, West Virginia. She cherished her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her cousin Shelvey Johnson and her husband Bruce from Florida, and her close friends Mary Lee and Pete Weidner.

Joan was preceded in death by her beloved son Michael Allen, six sisters, and one brother.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, March 24th from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. Services will follow at 1:30pm at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 17045 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville with Pastor Bruce Ladebu, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to(Children’s Rescue Initiative, 10670 PA-18, Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania 16316.)

  3. Sad to hear of Joan’s passing. I was a underclassman but I remember her well I always looked up to her and her friends. Such nice young ladies She always had a smile and such a pretty face You would have been proud of her way back when as you have been years as family. God bless all of you!! My sympathy!!

  4. Joan was one of my dear friends in high school, and for all the years since then. She was an excellent cook, and she kept an immaculate house. She always had time for her friends ,we many happy times together . My love, and sincere sympathy to her loved ones . I will miss her and her laugh !

    • Mourning the loss of the last of the oh-so-strong Roha women and our final aunt. Their memories remind me of who I need to be today and onward. I will so miss the humor.

      • Sorry for your loss. I have many good memories of Joanne. Joanne was friends with my mom and dad when I was growing up so I saw her at some parties. I got to know her more when I started dating her nephew and then marrying Danny. She was the one aunt that would visit Danny at Northgate for lunch. He always liked teasing her and I would love hearing and seeing her laugh and scolding Dan. I will always have heartfelt thoughts of her laughter. It was good that she was with Paul, who also made her laugh. Rest in peace Joanne.

  6. I did not know Joanne for that long but she was a Funny And A very nice person. Paul& Joanne moved into the Community were me and my Husband live it is called connect 55 of Meadville. Joanne &Paul used to play a dice game with alot of us here at connect 55.The game was called LEFT, RIGHT, CENTER. they really enjoyed playing the game. I really am going to miss Joanne the little time i knew her she always was a Pleasant Person .R.I.P Joanne love Noreen
