Joan Joni Arlene Rankin, 63, of 674 Grant Street Lot 13, Franklin died at 11:00 PM ,April 30, 2013 at her residence. Born April 15, 1950 in Mercer, PA, Joan was the daughter of the late Carl and Katherine Mae (Hogue) Danielson. On June 15, 1985 she married Howard Bud Rankin and he survives. Joan was employed as a Residential Service Aide for Polk Center until retiring after 31 years of service. Mrs. Rankin was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Rocky Grove. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, dragonflies, walking in the Relay For Life as a member of the JUGS team, and her dogs. She was also an avid Penguins fan. In addition to her spouse, Joan is survived by her daughter, Tabitha Rankin of Franklin; her step-daughter, Charity Palmer of TN; her brothers, James Edward Danielson and his wife, Lori, of PA, and William Bill Robert Danielson and his wife, April, of Harrisonville, VA; and her sisters, Susan Kaye Danielson and Kathy Marie Danielson both of Mercer. She is additionally survived by her brother-in-laws, Terry Rankin and his wife, Rose, and Bill Rankin and his wife, Roxann, both of Franklin; her sister-in-laws, Raylene Wilkinson and her husband, Carlton, of Richmond, VA, and Sue Owens and her husband, Bill, of Florida; her granddaughter, Callie Thomas of TN; her close friend, Shirley Breese of Sandy Lake; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her dogs. Friends will be received at the Grace United Methodist Church, 130 Front Street Franklin, on Saturday, May 4th, 2013, from 10:00AM - 12:00PM. Funeral services will be held following visitation at 12:00 PM, with Rev. Ed Gresick pastor of the Church, officiating. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Relay For Life (Venango County), JUGS Team c/o Mendy Adams, 2 Crescent Park, Warren, PA, 16365, ATTN: Marie Costello.
