Jerry had such a kind heart and warming smile. He will be missed.
Memorial service for Jerry Lee Johnson that was scheduled for Saturday, January 24th is POSTPONED
Jerry Lee Johnson, 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at his home with the Barber Center in Erie. Jerry was born November 10, 1946 in Union City, the son of Walter and Betty Johnson.
He grew up on a farm prior to moving to Union City with his family. He went to Barber Center school in Waterford. Jerry lived in Erie at a Barber group home many years where he attended the Whitehouse workshop and made jewelry boxes.
Jerry enjoyed road trips, singing along to music, painting and ceramics. He enjoyed holidays and visits with his family.
In addition to his mother Betty (Rockwell) Burlingham and father Walter R. Johnson., he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Walter Burlingham, his brother, Gary Paul Johnson, infant sister, Janet, and brother in law, Dawson G. Alsdorf.
Jerry is survived by his sister, Judy Alsdorf of Wooster, Ohio, sister-in-law, Judy Johnson and brother, Harold (Mary Ann) Burlingham, both of Erie. He also leaves several nephews, nieces and cousins. He will be missed by the special people at Barber Center who cared for Jerry over the years.
Memorial service will be rescheduled in the coming months.
Jerry will be laid to rest in Waterford Cemetery.
