Jay F. Downor, 62, of Union City, passed away, Thursday, November 25, 2021 at UPMC Hamot. He was born on November 2, 1959 in Union City a son of Frank E. Downor and Mary Klus Downor. He married Valerie K. Dudas on November 4, 2005. He was a 1977 graduate of Union City High School and a member of Saint Teresa of Avila Parish. Jay grew up on a dairy farm and was employed as a truck driver for Snap-Tite, Troyers Potato Chips, TLC, Five Star International, McWilliams Milk Hauling, and LGE Coachworks. He was a member of the American Legion, a past member of the Moose Club and VFW. He enjoyed NASCAR, watching the Dallas Cowboys, traveling, comparing his mad driving skills to that of Dale Earnhardt in his mind, and spending time with his family. To Jay everyone was a friend and he never met a stranger. Jay is survived by the love of his life, Valerie K. Downor of Union City; a daughter, Heather N. Veneziano and her husband Federico of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sons, Chuck and Nicholas Platt both of Greeley, Colorado; grandchildren, Ashley and Ronnie Marzka and Ryan Deringer; a great grandson, Lucas Harden, Jr.; a sister, Linda M. Bush and her husband Terry of Wattsburg; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Frank and Marilyn Dudas; two great grandsons, Maverick and Mateo Marzka; and a sister in law, Deborah Richardson. Family and friends are welcome to call on Tuesday, November 30th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 62 S. Main Street, Union City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 1st at 11:00am at Saint Teresa of Avila, 9 3rd Ave., Union City with Father Matthew J. Strickenberger, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will follow in Saint Teresa Cemetery, Union City. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jay's memory to Saint Teresa of Avila, 9 3rd Ave., Union City, Pennsylvania 16438 or Union City Fire Department, 50 2nd Ave., Union City, Pennsylvania 16438.   4. Gonna miss ya buddy. Your were like a father to me. Gonna miss hauling corn with you, it was always a great time, what I’d give to haul one more load with you. We always said we’d make a trip across country together. I guess we’ll do it when we meet again. Rest easy Jay.
