Janet C. Manuel, 94, of Meadville, passed away, Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Rolling Fields Nursing Home. She was born on August 19, 1920 in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania a daughter of John Sorg and Agnes Spittal Sorg. She married Wilfred J. Manuel in April of 1947. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1988.
Janet was a homemaker and was also employed at LaPuma Restaurant and Cargo Cleaners.
She was a member of Saint Brigid Roman Catholic Church.
Janet enjoyed playing cards, baking, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Carole Pero and her husband Sam of Johnson City, Tennessee and Sandra Leonard and her husband Jack of Tampa, Florida; a son, John Manuel and his wife Cindy of Meadville; numerous grandchildren and many great grandchildren; and a sister in law, Joyce Sorg of Meadville.
She was preceded in death by parents; loving husband, Wilfred; a son, Wilfred P. "Billy" Manuel; a brother, John; and four sisters, Agnes, Anna, Helen, and Catherine.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Wednesday, February 25th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 26th at 10:00am at the funeral home with Deacon Kenneth Reisenweber of Saint Brigid Roman Catholic Church, officiating.
Burial will be private in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Grandma Janet will be greatly miss she was a great woman that everyone loved.. I’m so glad I got to meet her and be part of the family..
I have no words to describe the pain of loosing you Gram. You were a star that fell from heaven 94 years ago and now you have returned. You taught me how to be strong in the face of adversity, to be gentle with people and to always remember family is everything. Thank you Gram for the privilege of loving you. Deepest condolences to entire family of Grandma Manuel…A wonderful and kind woman who will be forever held in highest regard.
