James C. Walbourn, 86, of Franklin passed away at 1:30 p.m. at UPMC Northwest in Seneca on Monday, July 25th.Born in Franklin on August 24, 1929, Jim was the son of the late Gilbert H. and Ethel Marie Kirk Walbourn. Jim was a United States Army Veteran having served from February 20, 1951 until March 1, 1957. He was married to the former Janice Fiddler, who preceded him in death.Jim enjoyed walking and when his health permitted, he enjoyed bicycling, hunting and camping.He is survived by his sister, Bonnie J. Kelsey, of Traverse City, Michigan; and his sister-in-law, Marlene Walbourn, of Polk. Jim is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Joy Parker of Michigan, Sandy Curelo of Oregon, Debbie Hafner of Michigan, Michelle Reikel of Florida, Donald Kelsey of Michigan, Patrick Kelsey of Utah, and Craig Walbourn of Franklin; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his 2 brothers, DeWayne and Gilbert Walbourn.Family and friends of Jim will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin PA on Thursday, July 28th from 3 to 7. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, July 29th at 11 a.m. with Rev. Stephanie Thompson, pastor of Center United Methodist Church officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the local V.E.T.S. Honor Guard. I’m so sorry to see that Uncle Jimmy passed away this past summer. He was a charming man and always pinched my cheek when he saw me. I’m also one of his nieces. My father was his brother, DeWayne. I feel so sad that no one let me know.
