Irene Marie Blair, 90, of Polk, passed away on Friday morning, April 27, 2018 at her son's residence in Franklin.Born April 23, 1928 in Franklin, Irene was the daughter of the late Ormand T. and Leah M. Beers Wentworth. She was married to Dana E. Blair, who preceded her in death.Prior to her retirement, Irene worked at Polk Center as a Physical Therapy Aide. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Franklin. Mrs. Blair recently celebrated her 90th birthday. She was considered the "Matriarch" of her family, and the joys of her life were all of her grandchildren. Irene enjoyed camping at Vacation Land in Sandy Lake and Kibbe Island in Tionesta, spent many winters vacationing in Florida, and also enjoyed traveling abroad and spending time in Paris. Irene was an avid outdoors person and loved to fish, garden, and birdwatch. She also enjoyed knitting and made afghans for all her children and grandchildren.Irene is survived by her son, Thomas A. Blair, of Franklin; her daughter, Marcia L. Blair, of Polk; her daughter-in-law, Sue Blair, of Franklin; her 8 grandchildren, Richard T. Blair of Franklin, Robert C. Blair of Oil City, Kimberly S. McDonough of Hawaii, Jason T. Blair of Grove City, Chad M. Blair of Pittsburgh, Scott Say of Meadville, Neisha S. Neal of Meadville, and Leisa A. Stellman of Ocean City, MD; her 9 great-grandchildren; and her 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her 2 sisters, Betty Rhoads and her husband, Miles, of Franklin, and Marcella Marshall of Polk.In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Blair was preceded in death by her son, Robert Blair; her brother, Wayne Wentworth; and her sister, Eloise Hoover.Family and friends of Irene will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Tuesday, May 1st from 2:00 p.m . to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m, and also from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 2nd at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David Smith, pastor of the Franklin Church of the Nazarene, officiating.     I am so sorry for your great loss!! Irene was such a support for you for many years and I know that you will surely miss her. She was always a gentle kind soul to me and I thought an awful lot of her. Keep your chin up kid and continue on the path you are on, Gram is still watching and with you, let her see how great of an influence she had on your life.
