Born in: Polk, Pennsylvania
Resided in: Eatonton, Georgia

Helen Joan Dille Constable, 93, passed away peacefully at her home in Eatonton, Georgia, on May 30, 2025. Born on March 11, 1932, in Polk, Pennsylvania, Helen lived a long and full life marked by love, loyalty, and quiet strength.

She was the daughter of the late Floyd and Vera Dille and was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Daley.

A graduate of Franklin High School, Helen began her career in bookkeeping at Polk Institute.

In 1951, Helen married the late Richard Constable, and for 30+ years they shared commitment and family. Together, they raised four children and were blessed with nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. They started the Constable family business, where she was also the bookkeeper. The next chapter in her life was spent with the late James Schildkamp. He founded a business, and she found herself as the bookkeeper of another small business. Helen worked well into her 80’s where she retired from Anderson Furniture Company.

Helen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a deep love of reading, knitting, cooking, and traveling-and was an enthusiastic Pittsburgh Steelers fan.  Her warmth, quiet wit, and generous heart touched everyone who knew her.

Guests will be received at the Franklin First United Methodist Church, 1102 Liberty Street, Franklin, PA on Monday June 30th from 10am to 11am with a service to celebrate Helen’s life will be held immediately following at 11am.  Helen will rest in Oakhill Cemetery, Sandy Lake.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. My deepest sympathies to the family. I know she will be missed by all her loved ones. God bless you all.

  2. Helen was such a kind, generous soul who will live in our memories forever. Her smile was warm and always welcoming, I was very fortunate to spend my teenage years in her home hanging out with Alisa and Sandy. Hugs, prayers and love go out to all of her family.

  3. Wonderful lady! May God keep her and her family in his loving arms and provide peace knowing that she is in Heaven with the Father and they will see her again one day❤️

  4. I have so many wonderful childhood memories of your mom. We really did share “the good old days.”

  5. As a rebellious teenager in the 70’s Aunt Helen was the voice of reason I could hear. She was so kind and did not hesitate to “save” me from myself.
