Gregg Scott Myers, 54, of Polk, passed away unexpectantly on Saturday, August 25, 2018 in his home.Born in Oil City on July 2, 1964, he was the son of James and Earline (James) Myers. After graduating high school, Gregg went to a trade school in Dubois to get a degree in Carpentry. Gregg married Deborah McBride on May 11, 1990 and she survives. For most of his life, he worked for Hovis Auto as a truck driver. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Franklin. In his spare time, he enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities, such as fishing, hunting, kayaking, and riding his 4-wheeler. He also enjoyed woodworking and making small furniture pieces. Most of all, however, he loved his family and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.In addition to his wife, Gregg is survived by his son, Jeffrey D. Rhoades of Emlenton; his daughter, Christine R. Rhoades of Strattanville; his grandchildren, Madison Terwilliger of New Hampshire, and Jacob and Gina Rhoades, both of Emlenton; two brothers, James P. Myers and his wife, Debra, of Cochranton, and Dennis E. Myers and his wife, Karen, of Oil City; his sister, Michelle Liston and her husband, Frank, of Rephryhills, Florida; and several nieces and nephewsGregg was preceded in death by his parents; his two sons, Cody and Curtis Myers; his parents-in-law, Victor and Dorothy McBride. Family and friends will be received Tuesday, August 28, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin.Funeral services will be held following the visitation at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 8 p.m. with Reverend Barry Jenkins, pastor of the Franklin First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be held at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens, 6615 US-322, Cranberry, PA 16319.The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Gregg's name to the Venango County Humane Society , P.O. Box 1045, Oil City, PA 16301, and/or the American Cancer Society, P.O.   2. So sorry to hear the news of Gregg’s passing. i met Gregg and Deb during our pastorate at Atlantic Avenue UB Church. He and Deb were an asset to the church and the Christian community. He will be missed but is now in the loving hands of his Saviour. We rejoice with the knowledge that we will see him again as fellow believers God bless and comfort the family at this sad time of loss. My prayers are with you all. Beverly Flick-Hazzard.

  3. Deb, and all of Gregg’s family, I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Greggs passing. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. He will be greatly missed.

  4. Gregg was a friend to me and the entire Scouting program. He helped many kids over the years and will be sadly missed by the French Creek Council, Boy Scouts of America and the Colonel Drake District.

  5. Rusty Bergholtz, remember all the Owl training weekends. What great memories. You were a Great Friend, Rest in Peace with Cody. You will be missed!

  7. So very sorry to learn of the loss of Gregg. The whole Myers family were great neighbors for a good many years. Manning St. & Bissell Ave. have a lot of good memories. We have lots of the people from that era, but known are forgotten. Prayers to all of you. Gregg will not be forgotten.

  8. I will never forget the first time we met on a Scout Training Weekend to Buffalo NY. It was an instant friendship and many good times spent working together at Custalogatown. RIP my friend!
