Gert had a great influence on our lives and we will be forever grateful. She spent countless hours supporting the youth of Townville Baptist Church. Who among the former youth will ever forget those BYF and Choir Camp meals; the “Holidaze” Inn overnighters; the church youth choir; the Lay Renewal Bible studies; and great Sunday School discussions? The influence Gert had on so many people will only be known in Heaven as her influence lives on in successive generations.
Many happy memories of mom-we were such card playing friends and one night we heard a noise and Russ said, “who is mowing grass at this time of night” but it turned out to be the refrigerator turning on. We laughed about that one for a long time. Mike and Jeff were always out in the driveway looking through a telescope at the planets and stars. They had a large cardboard with all the names and how many miles away they were. Gert and I loved it. This is how I remember your mom……funny, kind, and a beloved friend – also a great pie baker.
Love and sympathy to all the family
