Geraldine H. Nelles, 86, of Oil City, passed away at 5:02 p.m. at UPMC Northwest in Seneca on Tuesday, January 26th.Born March 15, 1929 in Indiana County, PA, she was the daughter of Archie and Alice Hadden. She was married to John L. Nelles in 1962, and he proceeded her in death on July 23, 2006.Over the years, Geraldine was employed at Isaly's, Foster Forbes Glass Plant, Moore's of Cochranton, and at Polk Center in the Dietary Department.She was a current member of the Seneca United Methodist Church where she attended regularly until her health no longer permitted.Geraldine is survived by her two daughters, Connie Crawford Smith of Oil City, and Cindy Crawford Misner (Chip) of Carnegie; her four grandchildren, Logan Cox, Daniel Misner (Taryn), Arin Donelson and Adam Misner; and her four great-grandchildren, Austen Donelson, and Bayne, Brylin and Brekyn Misner. Also surviving are a sister, Lucille Lowry, of Indiana, PA; two brothers, James Hadden of Franklin, and Carl Hadden of Gypsy, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Geraldine is additionally survived by her special friends, Heidi Boitnott, Dee Cutchall, and Debbie Barber.In addition to her parents and husband, Geraldine was preceded in death by her brother, Weldon Hadden; her sister-in-law, Connie Hadden; and her niece, Carol Rabickow.The family wishes to extend "heartfelt thanks" to other friends, relatives, neighbors, VNA Nurses, and the incredible Staff at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.As per the family's wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of Geraldine's family. The Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin will be handling arrangements. Interment will be in Brandon Cemetery.The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Geraldine's memory to the Seneca United Methodist Church - 196 East State Road, Seneca PA 16346.Family and friends are invited to visit www.gardinierfuneralhome.com to send cards and online condolences.
