Gaylord L. DeLong

Gaylord L. DeLong, 73, of 297 Black Hill Road ,Franklin died Saturday ,June 14, 2014, at Canonsburg Hospital. Born March 17, 1941, in Franklin, Gaylord was the son of the late Wallace and Joan (McKean) DeLong. On July 1, 1961, he married Sally Lesko, who survives.Gaylord proudly served his country in The Army. Mr. DeLong was employed for UPS for 30 years before his retirement in 1995.He had attended the Christ United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, firearms, doing handyman work, and spending time with his family.In addition to his wife, Gaylord is survived by his daughter, Margaret M. O'Neal and her husband, Brian J., of McMurray; his brother George DeLong and his wife, Faith, of Mars; his sister, Sandra Hughes and her husband, Richard, of Franklin; his grandchildren, Heather Leifheit and her husband, Jeremy, of Springfield, OH, Jonelle Waldron and her husband, Tim, of McMurray, and Julia O'Neal of McMurry; and his great-grandchildren, Grace and J.D. Leifheit.He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Gaylord DeLong Jr.; and a sister, Linda Hood.Services for Gaylord are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
