It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Frank M. Germick’s passing on December 16, 2025, at the age of 84. He grew up surrounded by the love of his parents, Frank and Nellie Germick, and went on to graduate from New Castle High School in 1959. Frank would later attend Youngstown University for two years before graduating from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1962, kicking off a dedicated career as a funeral director at the former Roofner-Collins Funeral Home, where he worked for over 30 years.
Frank was a devoted family man, married to Martha “Marti” Wagner for 46 years until her passing in 2013. Frank was deeply involved in his community. He was a valued member of the Epiphany of the Lord Parish, where he served as an usher and participated in the Men’s Club. Frank’s commitment to service extended to the Knights of Columbus, where he distinguished himself as a 4th Degree Knight and former Grand Knight. He was an active member of the community throughout his life, including being a part of the Davis Hose Company, Meadville Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Hunting and Fishing Club, VFW Post 2006, Meadville Volunteer Fire Department Board of Relief, and the Polish Falcons. Notably, he once had the honor of serving as Grand Marshal of the Meadville Halloween Parade.

Frank was a wonderful guy and a great friend. Always welcoming when we visited with him and Marti. When Marti and Joyce went on shopping trips, he was always there to unload the car, trying his best to stay calm. It was funny to see how fast his attitude would change once he discovered some sweet treats that Marti had brought back for him. We will miss him very much. Our deepest sympathy to his family.
I am so saddened at the loss of Frank. I knew Frank by being a Kiwanis member. He was a devoted member and friend of our Golden K in Meadville. He never missed a meeting even when he got so frail. I think the only times he missed was if he was in the hospital or at a doctors appointment. The last thing I remember about Frank was his being so happy to have his house walls painted. We will miss him at Golden K very much. He was a good friend.
Frank was my M.P. Davis Hose brother we were sworn in the same night. I truly believe that he was one of the most genuine people I have ever met in my life. Rest in peace my brother and I will truly miss you and thankful to have known you. Woody
We met Frank and Marti through Welcome Wagon. He and my husband Larry were very active in the Meadville Jaycees. Our friendship continued as we with 4 other couples formed the wingers. The girls got together one Wednesday a month. We invited the men to join us for special occasions. He always asked about other people in our group. He loved God and his family and friends. I enjoyed our conversations the last couple of years at Barco. He will be missed.
It’s been pleasure for us to have known Frank both from noon time Kiwanis and the most recent years the Golden K Kiwanis. Frank enjoyed listening to our speakers and interacting at our regular weekly sessions. He loved sharing stories and enjoyed the camaraderie of our chitchat. All of his friends from Meadville Golden K send our sympathies to his family.
