Frances A. Hajduk, 99, of Franklin, passed away on October 28, 2019 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.Born May 9, 1920 in Franklin, Frances was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Stelmach) Facini. After graduating high school, she attended the Oil City Business School. On September 3, 1943, she married the love of her life, John G. Hajduk; he preceded her in death on January 23, 1999.Frances was employed with the old Franklin Hospital as a Nurses Aide and at the General Manifold in the Printing Department prior to starting a family, and then as a receptionist with the News Herald newspaper office.In her spare time, Frances loved arts and crafts, especially sewing, painting, old-time portrait tinting, and stained glass. She also had a passion for cooking and loved to try out a new cookbook whenever she could. When she wasn't crafting or cooking, you could find her outdoors tending to her beloved gardens. Frances also attended the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Franklin.Left to cherish her memory are her son, Dr. Mark A. Hajduk and wife, Nancy, of Franklin; her daughter, Rosanne Chamberlain and husband, Steve, of Franklin; her daughter-in-law, Marge Hajduk of Oil City; her nine grandchildren, Jennifer Bergkoetter and husband, Mike, of New Hope, Alan Hajduk and wife, Lauren, of McKees Rocks, Dr. Stephanie Hajduk of Arlington, VA, Dr. Allison Dilks and husband, Jason, of Oil City, Julianne Plumer of Meadville, Steve Chamberlain and wife, Melissa, of Centerville, Justin Chamberlain of Cochranton, Dillon Becker of San Francisco, CA, and Mercedes Hoeft of Pittsburgh.She is further survived by her ten great-grandchildren, Allison, Dean, and Tyler Bergkoetter of New Hope, Jackson Dilks, of Oil City, Madeline and Sarah Plumer of Meadville, Alyssa Chamberlain of Cochranton, and Kaitylyn, Kaylee, and Piper Chamberlain of Centerville; and her sister-in-law, Lorraine Facini, of Franklin.In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by her three sons, Stephen, Robert, and Dr. Michael Hajduk; and by her two brothers, Stephen and Joseph Facini.Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 1, 2019 at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA 16323, from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm. A Christian Wake Service will be held at the beginning of visitation at 2 pm, with Deacon Richard Reed, officiating.A Funeral Mass for Frances will be held at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, 949 Liberty Street, Franklin, PA 16323, on Saturday, November 2, 2019 starting at 11 am, with Monsignor John Herbein officiating.Frances will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Patrick Cemetery.Memorial contributions can be made in Frances' honor to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation, One Children's Hospital Drive, Central Plant, Floor 3, 4401 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224.To send flowers, cards, online condolences, or for further information, family and friends are invited to visit www.gardinierfuneralhome.com.
