Elu Paul Lawrence

Elu P. Lawrence, 77, formerly of Franklin, PA passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023 at his home in Harrisburg, PA. He was born on June 1, 1945, in Venango County, to the late Vivian and Evelyn (McKean) Lawrence. After graduating high school, Elu served in the Army and upon returning home was employed by General Telephone & Electronics Communications (GTE) where he served as the Northeastern Regional Manager for many years. Elu loved spending time in the outdoors; you could often find him hunting, fishing and playing golf. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing sports and in later years watching them. He also enjoyed a good game of cards and chess. Left to cherish his memory are his partner Twila J. Boyd of Pittsburgh,PA, his son, Elu P. Lawrence II of Jersey City, NJ; his brothers, Rolland "Bay" Lawrence of Franklin, PA and Dennis Lawrence of Jamestown, NY; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Elu was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Austie McKean Maher, Vivian Lawrence, Jr., Derenfru "Duke" Lawrence, Donald Louis Lawrence, Roland Curtis Lawrence, Austie "Moochie" Vivian Lawrence, Vera R. Lawrence Hunter, Barbara Lawrence Dawson, Calvin B. Lawrence, and Rolland Lawrence, Sr. A memorial service for Elu will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 1:00pm at the Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA 16323.
