  1. Mercedes and David — Your mom was my high school Spanish teacher in the late 1970s. I loved her. She was a great teacher and made learning so much fun. It was an honor to be in her class. She was always bragging about the two of you. She was so proud of you. It is always difficult to lose your mother. I hope it brings you some comfort to know how much so many of us loved her. My deepest condolences to you and your family.

    -Marcia

  4. I loved Senora Conde and have kept her in my heart throughout the years. She was spirited, smart and a bright light in her students lives – a truly special person that I was blessed to have in my life. Thank you Senora, you live on in all of us that loved you.

  5. Mercedes and David,
My deepest condolences on the passing of your dear mother. I will always remember her gracious spirit, her fun sense of humor and her devotion to her students. I have many many cherished memories of special times in her classroom. Unusual timing, but I was just mentioning to a friend last evening that she would tell us we were learning Cuban, not just Spanish!

She was a very special lady who left pieces of her heart with all of us….

    ~Gail

  6. Dear Mercedes and David,
I was so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. I was lucky enough to have met her as my Spanish teacher and then reconnected with her as an adult. I enjoyed listening to her stories when I delivered communion to her home. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. I know you have many good memories that will comfort you in days ahead.
(P.S. Heaven gained two angels last week….my Mom passed, also.) Joyce Hayden

  7. I was a student of your mother for 5 years at MASH. I was inspired by her enthusiasm and love of life. She was a gifted educator and a warm and loving person. I am certain she lived a full and valuable life and will be missed by all.

    Warmly,

Michelle (Miller) Lybarger (Miguelina to your mother!)
