Dorothy J. Jewell

Dorothy J. Jewell, 73, of Franklin passed away on October 28, 2025 at UPMC Hamot, Erie.

Born on July 6, 1952 in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Samuel and Irene Marie (Baker) Haylett.

On March 26, 1974 she married the love of her life, David “Wick” Jewell. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2008.

When she could, she enjoyed crocheting and crossword puzzles. Most of all though, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Dorothy was a member of the Franklin VFW, Jesse Greer Post 1835.

Left to cherish her memory are her siblings James Haylett of Oklahoma and Virginia Louise Hanna of Polk and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings Alfred Haylett, Robert Haylett, Jack Haylett, Betty Marie Uber, Sandra Hovis, and Karen Gass.

In following with Dorothy’s wishes, no public services will be observed and arrangements are under the care of the Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA.

Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her husband in Franklin Cemetery.
