Dorothy Alt, 89, of Franklin, passed away at 9:30 a.m. at her residence on Wednesday, March 8th, following an illness.Born July 10, 1927 in Franklin, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Richard N. and Annabelle Wentworth Young. She was married to Ralph Alt, Sr., who preceded her in death on October 8, 2016.Dorothy retired in 1985 from Polk Center where she worked as a Personal Analyst for more than 32 years. She was a very active member of the Franklin Wesleyan Methodist Church, and enjoyed spending time with her family.Dorothy was the last surviving member of her immediate family and is survived by her daughter, Linda Clingensmith of New Castle; and her son, Ralph Alt, Jr., and his wife, Patricia, of Cochranton.She is also survived by her grandchildren, Heather Alt of Hermitage, Jarrod Alt of Grove City, Liza Chess and her husband, Brian of Grove City, Loni Hervatine and her husband, Brian, of New Castle, Sunny Kingston and her husband, John, of New Castle, Chris Umstead of Ephrata, Craig Umstead and his wife, Lee Ann, of Seneca, and Cassi Johnson of Franklin; and her 13 great-grandchildrenIn addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Miller; her brother, Kenneth Young; and her sister, Eileen Reitz.Funeral services for Dorothy will be private and held at the convenience of her family.
