Doris Maude Haylett, 87, of Franklin, passed away at 10:10 a.m. on Saturday, October 3rd, at The Caring Place, where she had resided since 2010.Born January 11, 1928 in Franklin, Doris was the daughter of the late Charles P. and Dora Bella Kelley Snyder. She married william Paul Haylett on November 28, 1947, and he preceded her in death on May 15, 2014.Doris was a wife, mother and homemaker. She was actively involved in the Polk and Utica Fire Departments and was active in the VFW Auxiliaries, where she had held the positions of President and all other offices. She was also a member of Venango County Fire Police for more than thirty years. She enjoyed helping people, crafting, and loved animals.Doris is survived by her daughter, Dottie Reese, and her husband, Todd, of Franklin. She is also survived by her sisters, Nina MacWilliam of McKean, and June Dunlap of Meadville. Additionally, Doris is survived by her sister-in-law, Lois Morford; her brother-in-law, Daryl Lee Haylett, and his wife, Ruth; and her sister-in-law, Virginia Haylett.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Willie Pauline Haylett; her brothers, Jack Snyder, Norman Snyder, and Buck Snyder; and her sisters, Grace McWilliam and Mabel Ellis.Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Wednesday, October 7th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 8th at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 am, with the Rev. William Hasting, pastor of the Seneca United Methodist Church, officiating.
