Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Oh how my heart hurts right now for your loss. The gift of having you as a choir/music teacher during my jr high/ high school years was precious beyond words. The love for musicals you instilled in me is still going strong 40 years later. My husband and I continue to do community theater musicals together now in our 50’s. You will always live on in my heart every time I take the stage or even sing to my grandson. The gift you gave me changed my life forever.??????????
    Love,
    Susan Scriven Schroeter

  2. I have so many memories, playing cards in our card club, seeing plays at the Benedum, and spending time with her at “girls week” at Canadohta Lake just to mention a few. She will be missed.

  3. Lucy – my condolences to you and your family. Too many memories of your mom to share, but think of car rides to district and regional choir practices and festivals, Pop choir performances in the area, countless musical rehearsals, her scolding your dog when he would break wind and of course her tutoring me when I auditioned to be a music major in college. She touched the lives of many and shared her love of music that continues to this day. Spence

  4. I remember when the Wrenshalls came to Cooperstown. Before they moved into their house in Cooperstown they lived near Utica where they rented a house until their house in Cooperstown was ready. In about 1965, I rode with Doris and some other people from the Cooperstown UM Church to the Annual Conference where they were honoring one of Bob’s family. He could not go so Doris and a group of us went. Bob had just purchased a 1957 Cadillac from someone’s estate. It had all the bells and whistles on it including an electric eye that dimmed the lights when an oncoming car approached. I’ve enjoyed the exchange of many Christmas cards over the years and hearing about your family Lucille. I have other stories also. Blessings upon you as you celebrate the life of one who has contributed so much to her church and community.

  5. Lucy and Family,
So sorry for the loss of your Mother. She was my RGHS music teacher. A great gift to the young voices of Valley Grove.
My first memory of you and her is when she hosted a Girl Scout iceskate party at the house in Cooperstown. A big time for little girl.
I enjoyed seeing and treating her at UPMC. She would always remember me. Even greater, she was so proud of you and your family.
    Thinking of you all,
    Tami Burke Duda

  6. Lucy and family – your mom will be greatly missed! She was loved by everyone in Cooperstown and by all who knew her. You are in our prayers.
