David A. Doutt, 66, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019 at UPMC Hamot following complications related to lifelong diabetes.Born on December 29, 1952 in San Antonio, TX, he was the son of the late Hazen "Knute" D. and Florence J. (Hawthorne) Doutt. After graduating high school, he went on to receive his Associate's Degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.David was married to the former Mary Frances Roth, known as "Dee Dee"; she survives him.For over 20 years, David worked as an RSA at Polk Center until his retirement.In his spare time, David was a man of the woods. He especially enjoyed being at his family's camp in Newmansville with his family and friends. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as, a gun collector. David was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #316 in Franklin.Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Mary Doutt; his son, Robert Pelleck of Virginia; his step-son, Thomas Collins of Pittsburgh; his step-daughter, Carolyn Rogers and her husband, Henri, of Volant; his step-grandchildren; Madelyn, Georgia, and Lillyana Rogers, all of Volant; his brother, Dana R. Doutt and his wife, Jody, of Utica; his sister, Nancy J. Stamm and her husband, Gary, of Palmyra, PA; his nieces, Adriane Felmlee and Melissa Patrick; and his nephews, Cody Doutt, Scott Sloss, and Justin Sloss.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Jake Doutt.Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA 16323, from 10 am to 2 pm. Sorry to hear of your loss. I only met him one time when he opened up his pond to host a fishing tournament for a senior project. From that day and the stories Dana tells at work I can tell he was a very caring/giving person.
