Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I didn’t know Papa as well as I wish I did. But when I did visit, he always opened his arms to me and gave me a big kiss on my head. He loved grandma so much, he always called her the boss! He was such a nice man and I’ll never forget how sweet he was to me.

  2. It always made our day so much brighter when Dave came to visit his Uncle Mike and Aunt Candy. Heaven has received a wonderful, loving man.

  3. There are so many memories, but one of my favorites was enjoying those ten a see (Tennessee) cows on a very exciting road trip to Georgia. I love you Papa you were seriously one of my favorites that had come into my life! You will be greatly missed!

  4. II was a high school classmate of Dave’s. Late one snowy night I found myself driving out on Old Wattsburg Road with my girlfriend. I was young and stupid, driving too fast on mud and snow and ran off the road into a deep ditch and got hung-up. I walked up the muddy road to the Kirik’s house, knocked on the door, and explained my plight. Without delay they got their tractor and Dave and his dad came down the road to pull us out. When they got there Dave jumped right in, crawled into the ditch with the chain intent on hooking the chain to the car’s rear end. Dave’s dad was more cautiously and told him that I should do it. I gave it my best shot and at first tug a panel from the rear of the car was pulled off where I had hooked the chain. Second time was the charm and they got us out of the ditch, onto the road, and on our way. I learned a couple of life lessons that night but the most important one I learned from the Kiriks.

Hebrews 13:16 Don’t forget to do good and to share what you have because God is pleased with these kinds of sacrifices.

  5. My love to the family ! One of the best families I’ve ever served and come to know! Such a loss for you all, may your memories brighten your days ahead , share them and keep them alive ! ♥️

  6. Dave was always someone who took time to listen. His pipe ready and sitting at his consul running the FENN mill.
A true, lifelong friend and confidant, for so many.
    Travel well David.
My heart filled condolences to his family and many friends.

  7. My heartfelt sympathy to Becky and the entire family. Dave had a real heart of gold. Being around him and the family was always such a joy. I am blessed to have had the chance to meet him. “His favorite things to do were taking his wife to dinner, traveling and picking her wildflowers” Oh My! that is as precious as can be. What wonderful memories for them!
My favorite memory was the time Dave took me deer hunting. I was so happy that he even would take me, when so many hunters considered it a guys only sport. I did not bring home a deer that day, but I brought home a memory of one of the kindest and most hard working men in this world. I will remember him as such. He will be missed by so many. God hold you each in his loving hands.

  8. Having spent time both in and out of work with Dave, I just have to imagine how much he is missed by his family. I first met Dave when I first started as a supervisor at GE. I quickly realized that if I mentioned something to him that needed to be done, it would get done. He was just the type of guy that made things happen. I suspect he was probably this way in all of his life. It is not often that you meet someone that is so genuine. Though I did not see Dave very often these last several years, knowing he is gone, leaves a big hole in my world.
