Danny D. Fry, 70, of Franklin passed away after a lengthy illness on Friday, March 20 at 3:00 p.m. at UPMC in Seneca. Born March 22, 1944 in Franklin, Danny was the son of Thomas J. Fry and Gladys Martin, who preceded him in death. On February 24, 2009, Danny married the former Elaine Spencer, who survives. Danny was a graduate of Franklin High School. He was a truck driver for various companies, the last one being Louis Kraft Company in Franklin. He was a member of the National Guard. Danny attended Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin. In his spare time, he enjoyed visiting the Amish country in Ohio, traveling there every summer when his health permitted. Danny also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family members, where he attended many of his grandchildren's sporting events. He is especially remembered by his loved ones by enjoying his "sweets," hunting, fishing, and enjoyed driving around on the back roads.In addition to his wife, Danny is survived by his sister, Joan Marsteller and her husband, Harold, of Franklin; his step-sons, Jeremy Baker and his wife, Tracy, of Polk, and Randy Phillips of Franklin; and his step-daughter, Robin Lafon and her husband, Timothy, of Franklin. Danny is also survived by his step-grandchildren, Kelsey Baker, Kassidy Baker, and Korey Baker of Polk, Martika Phillips of Franklin, Christopher Baughman and his wife, Amber, of Franklin, Brent Baughman of Polk, Shani Baughman of Polk, and Lyndsie Lafon of Franklin. Additionally, he is survived by his great-grandson, Ethan Baughman of Franklin, his great-granddaughter, Avril (to be born in April), and his special nephew, Jeffrey Green of Knox. In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Fry and Ronald "Gene" Fry; and his sisters, Peggy Fry and Nancy Green. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin. Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Tuesday, March 24 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon).Funeral services will follow visitation at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Sam Wagner, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, officiating.
