Clyde L. (Mike) Steadman, 97 of Saegertown, passed away at Crawford County Care Center on July 6, 2011 at 6:10 A.M. He was born in Crawford County on June 3, 1914, a son of Frank E. Steadman and Olive Wood Steadman. Mike loved to go to Canada hunting and fishing. He bagged several moose and at least on black bear in Canada and got his share of deer locally. He loved to play dominos with his sister Rose. He completed the 8th grade at Moss Grove School and worked most of his life in the timber and logging industry. He is survived by his first wife Ann Fortney; his second wife Margie Smith Parker; a step-daughter Sandy Parker of Union City, PA; sons Louis L. Steadman and his wife Marilyn of Clintonville, PA, William F. Steadman and his wife Dorothy of Townville, PA; step-sons David Parker and his wife Karen of Centerville, PA, Robert Parker and his wife Jane of Townville, PA; grandchildren Michelle Steadman McFadden, Michael Steadman, Gail Steadman, Diane Weldon and her husband Philip, Laura Priester and her husband Randy, Helen Hoban and her husband Mark, Peggy Steadman, Darrell Hayden and his wife Joy, Bobbi Jo Mona and her husband Bob, Stacey Waid and her husband Ernie and several step-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Sarah, step-daughter Connie Bossard, infant son Edward Neil Steadman; sisters, Jessie Sterling, Bessie Ringer, Opal Thomas, May Altenburg, Edith Archer and Rose Parker Waid; brothers, Clint, James, Harry, Raymond, Rex, Charles, and Park. Mike was the thirteenth of fourteen children and they preceded him in death. Friends may call at the Willis L. Arnold Funeral Home, 33353 N. Main St., Townville, PA on Friday, July 8, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Funeral service will be on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Glen Van Cise of the Chapmanville Community Church officiating. Burial will take place at Kingsley Cemetery in Townville, PA.   3. So sad to learn Uncle Mike has passed. He was such a fun guy to visit with although I have not seen him in years; since my family and I moved to Florida. He will be missed by many. God be with the family in this time of sorrow.

  5. To Mike’s family, So glad I got to know him at the Crawford County Care Center as his social worker. He was such a funny guy and had a good sense of humor. Sorry wasn’t able to make it to the funeral home to pay my respects in person. Will miss getting to see Mike and will miss his sense of humor and the way he would tease the staff.
