Carolyn A. Baughman

Carolyn A. Baughman, 83, of Franklin went to be with her Lord and Savior, on June 16, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born on April 14, 1942 in Rocky Grove, she was the daughter of the late Merle and Leone Umstead Gilmore.

On September 2, 1961, she married the love of her life, Charles O. Baughman and he survives.

Carolyn was a longtime member of the Grace United Methodist Church and was very active with the Oakhill Church of Franklin where she was the treasurer.

For many years, she worked for the Venango County Assistance Office and retired in 2003.

She was very proud of her family and enjoyed every moment she could with them. She loved history and watching her favorite baseball team, NY Yankees. She also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys but baseball was a top priority. She would be found tending to her tomato plants and her beautiful flower garden.

Left to cherish Carolyn’s memories along with her husband is her daughter, Julie A. Reinsel and her husband, Daniel, of Franklin; her grandson Johnathan Reinsel of Franklin; and her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her son, Bryan Lee Baughman; her brother James Gilmore; a nephew and several nieces.

Guests are invited to the Gardinier – Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Friday, June 20th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with funeral services being held immediately following at the funeral home a 1:00 with Pastor Robin Shields – Holtzman officiating.

Carolyn will be laid to rest at Franklin Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made in Carolyn’s memory to Oakhill Church of Franklin, 10 Adams Street, Franklin, PA 16323.

  1. Our deepest condolences to our cousin, Chuck and his family. Carolyn was a wonderful person, and she loved the Lord. Her smile and loving ways will be miss in our hearts and in the Baughman family.
    Rest in Peace with our savior. Our prayers are with you all.

  3. Mrs.Baughman was such a kind and caring person, I worked with her daughter Julie for many years and she was always smiling and was a wonderful person!!

  4. Carolyn was always so helpful and nice, but especially so when we had a yard sale before my mother’s move from Rocky Grove. It was so pleasant to speak with her recently even though she was suffering. The many Gilmores will miss her and we send our sympathy to her family.

  5. Carolyn always had a smile on her face, no matter what was going on around her. She loved the Lord and she loved her family and friends. I think we can honestly say she has fought a good fight and she has finished her course and has entered in to the glorious of heaven. My prayers are with her family and friends. I’m so thankful that I was a friend.
