Betty Foulk Nelson, 83, of Townville, passed away at the Crawford County Care Center on Thursday, March 22, 2018. She was born on July 17, 1934 in Guys Mills; daughter of the late Carl C. and Mabel Fleek Foulk. She married Playford A. Nelson on June 29, 1957 and he preceded her in death on April 23, 2007. Betty was employed by Talon, Inc., and Titusville Herald for 23 years as a typist; Secretary - Treasurer for Kingsley Cemetery since 1987; a member of Crawford County Historical Society and Cochranton Historical Society; a ten year committee member of Randolph - East Mead Alumni Association; solicitor for Townville Old Home Days and a member of Townville Baptist Church. She did genealogy on the Foulk and Hopkins families, along with Doris Tanner did a history on six large families in Townville. Winston, Carpenter, Arnold, Gillette, Childs and Smith families of Townville. A copy of this history is housed in the Crawford County Historical Society. Survivors include her sister, Christa Shank and her husband John of Guys Mills and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Betty was preceded in death by four sisters, Ila Rockefellow, Elma Foulk, Carolina Davenport and Dorothy McNulty; six brothers, William, Robert, Willard, Wayne, Willis and Bernard Foulk; two nephews, David C. Foulk and Russell A. Foulk; niece, Teresa Mae Foulk. Friends and family are invited to call at the Townville Baptist Church on Monday, March 26, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the services at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor James Riley officiating. Burial will take place at Kingsley Cemetery. Memorial Contributions maybe made to the Kingsley Cemetery, ???
