Elizabeth (Betty) Jane Slingluff, 98, formerly of Golfview Manor in Meadville, passed away on April 30, 2022 at the Crawford County Care Center. Born in Warren, Ohio on April 22, 1924, she was the daughter of Stanley and Margaret (Cozy) Slingluff. Her grandparents were Thomas and Josephine Cozy and Ed and Bell Slingluff. Betty's early childhood schooling was in Hornell, New York; she later moved with her mother to Kerrtown and attended Kerrtown School for 5th and 6th grades. She graduated from St. Agatha High School in 1942. Betty was employed at the former Brite Spot in Kerrtown in her early years. She also worked at Westinghouse and Talon, where she retired after 29 years as an engineering clerk. Betty was a faithful life-long member of Saint Agatha Roman Catholic Church and an active member of the Altar Rosary Society. She had also been a former member of the Lady's Monday Night Bowling League. As the only child of a woman who had 12 brothers and sisters, Betty was dedicated to helping a number of those aunts and uncles as, one by one, they needed assistance in order to be able to keep living at home. She was selfless in giving a hand whenever it was needed. Survivors include many cousins, including Kaye Roberts of Columbus, Ohio and James(Judy) Morneweck of Meadville. Family and friends are welcome to call on Monday, May 9th at The Epiphany of the Lord Parish, 353 Pine Street, Meadville from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00pm with Father Jeffrey Lucas as celebrant. Betty will be laid to rest at St. Agatha Cemetery, Meadville.
